As a hobby, I deal with 3D printing,
programming, microcontrollers and single-board computers
and plan to use this server here to control and monitor a
3D printer. It already runs a power consumption monitor
including automatic shutdown of the printer, a temperature
monitor including fan control for the server and this self
programmed website here in a flask-gunicorn framework.
Sockets switchable via Wi-Fi, flashed with
Tasmota
to control power and for consumption measurement, and
self-built Esp32 Wi-Fi cameras are also used.
I have implemented the usage of the
Telegram
bot API to monitor and control printer and server.
I like Python, taught myself and use Pycharm as IDE and
GitHub
as code repository.
Since I'm “stuck” behind a CG-NAT with my internet provider and don't get a public IP, I decided to rent a virtual private server from IONOS and redirect my NoIP domain to that VPS and I have added all the necessary devices to a virtual private network from ZeroTier. Via that VPN I have worldwide access to my devices, including this Raspberry Pi as print server.
As a little play on words, I named this
server KobraPi because my 3D printer is an
Anycubic Kobra 2 Plus
and the printer server is a
Raspberry Pi.
Why am I doing this?
Because I can do it and I really want to learn more, just
for fun.
Incidentally, my nickname is based on a similar play on
words ;-)
There may be more about me later. This
project is still private, which may change.
We will see.
Sincerely yours

Excitement online because the Austrian Cobra needed several attempts to shoot down a cow. Studies have shown that “normal” police officers have a hit rate of just 20 percent when using their weapon on duty. However, the fact that members of the Cobra special task force do not appear to be much more accurate is new. They are said to have needed seven shots in Matrei am Brenner to incapacitate an escaped cow. This is being hotly debated on social media and Cobra is being criticized.
